A NEW DISTRICT COMMISSIONER IS APPOINTED!!
Welcome to the Home Page of Urmston and District Scout Council’s Web Site.
Greater Manchester West Scout County covers the Metropolitan Boroughs of Salford, Trafford and Wigan with a number of Scout Districts in each Borough. Four of these Scout Districts are in the Borough of Trafford. Urmston and District is one of them.
Geographically, Urmston and District covers the areas of Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Carrington and Partington with one or more Scout Groups located in most of these areas.
At the Annual General Meeting of the Urmston & District Scout Council on July 15th 2008, the following announcement was made:-
“Mr. Stephen Hayes has been appointed District Commissioner in succession to Mr. David Vost who retired from the post with effect from the District A.G.M. on the 15th July. Steve is well known in the District, he is a member of the Scout Fellowship and has served as a Scout Leader, A.D.C. (Scouts) and District Chairman. Steve has accepted the post for a short period until another District Commissioner can be appointed.”

We would like to thank David Vost for all his guidance, leadership and work as our D.C. over 11 years. In addition to his duties at Dunham Park Scout Camp he continues as a member of the Scout Fellowship.
