A NEW DISTRICT COMMISSIONER IS APPOINTED!!
Welcome to the Home Page of Urmston and District Scout Council’s Web Site.
Greater Manchester West Scout County covers the Metropolitan Boroughs of Salford, Trafford and Wigan with a number of Scout Districts in each Borough. Four of these Scout Districts are in the Borough of Trafford. Urmston and District is one of them.
Geographically, Urmston and District covers the areas of Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Carrington and Partington with one or more Scout Groups located in most of these areas.
Mr. Jonathan Platt has been appointed District Commissioner in succession to Mr. Steve Hayes who retired from the post with effect from December 1st 2009. Jonathan is well known in the District, he is a member of the Scout Fellowship and has served in many roles

including Scout Leader and A.D.C. (Scouts). Steve accepted the post for a short period only until another District Commissioner could be appointed and has held the reigns in a competent manner and we all thank him for his service and welcome Jonathan to the DC’s role.
